Melissa & Paul, Peppers Creek Chapel

We were hopeful (as pretty much everyone was...) that by the time August came around we'd have this whole pandemic under control, so that things can slowly get back to normal. Unfortunately there is no end in sight when it comes to restrictions, which still means social distancing, no mingling or dancing for weddings. Having your wedding at the moment just won't be the same – but it doesn't mean it's impossible! More and more couples decide to still go ahead with their wedding. Yes, it might be different, but it will be special nonetheless.

After months without weddings I finally got to photograph again - actually three on the same weekend, so stay tuned for Blogs to follow.

Melissa and Paul had booked us for their big wedding a while back, but due to Covid they were forced to postpone. A few weeks later they got in touch with us, asking if we could photograph their small ceremony, as they had decided to still get married on their original date. I was excited to jump back into photographing weddings, and to be able to do this at a stunning venue like Peppers Creek in the Hunter Valley.

With a small group of friends and family present, Mel and Paul were married in the chapel, with happy tears shared by them and their kids. After the intimate ceremony I was able to use the Barrel Room for some bridal photos. Thanks to Donna for allowing us and helping setting the mood in the room. I just love the doors and fire place of the Barrel Room. I'm excited to shoot something different again next time, as there are other beautiful locations within the venue.

Thank you for letting me capture part of your beautiful day – can't wait to do it all again next year at your “BIG” wedding!
