When you plan your wedding in the middle of a pandemic you're faced with a decision: to postpone or go ahead with some restrictions. Mel and Paul had to make that call last year, and they didn't want to put their wedding off any longer! So last year they tied the knot in a very intimate ceremony at their dream venue.
However, they felt like something was missing - the party! They decided to do it all again, ceremony, bridal shoot and a proper reception with all their family and friends once restrictions allowed them to. We were lucky enough to capture their first ceremony last year, and it made it even more special to do it again with them, this time to capture what they called their "real" wedding.
We arrived for the late morning preparations, and despite them being already married, they were just as excited for the day. Mel got ready in the property's stunning accommodation on site. The beautiful bedroom was perfect to showcase her new wedding dress!
It was a stunning autumn day, so we used the grounds for their bridal shoot. Last year we photographed Mel & Paul inside the Barrel Room after their ceremony, and we wanted to give them a different setting and set of photos this time around. There were some green leaves left on the vines, mixed in with some Autumn red, which looked beautiful. Clint also used the drone to capture some aerial shots with the couple walking.
Their reception was was filled with laughs, dancing and delicious food. We could see how important it was for Mel and Paul to have their party - they could celebrate their wedding all over again, and it made it feel even more special having their loved ones around.
We had a blast with you, Mel and Paul - thanks for having us capture your wedding (again). We're ready for wedding number 3 or an anniversary shoot with you!
